About Yardım e. V.

Yardım – Intercultural Housing Support e. V. is an independent provider of homelessness assistance in Berlin.

We support people who are at risk of homelessness or are already affected, as well as individuals living in unacceptable housing conditions.

Our services are available throughout all districts of Berlin and include assistance under Sections 67 et seq. of the German Social Code XII (SGB XII) within the framework of BEW (Supported Independent Living) and WuW (Housing Retention and Housing Access).

Our Work

We step in when the loss of housing is imminent or has already occurred. The goal of our work is to secure housing together with our clients, develop new perspectives, and achieve long-term stability.

Our support services include, among other things:

• Maintaining existing housing or assistance in finding new accommodation

• Support with rent, energy, and other debts

• Clarifying income and enforcing entitlement to social benefits

(e.g. Jobcenter, Social Welfare Office, Family Benefits Office, Housing Office)

• Support with matters relating to immigration law

• Assistance with additional social, financial, or personal challenges

Our counselling is free of charge, confidential, and tailored to individual needs.

Intercultural Focus

A particular focus of our work is supporting people with a migration background.

If needed, we also provide counselling in Turkish in order to reduce language barriers and enable a relationship built on trust.

We work respectfully, with cultural sensitivity, and on equal footing.

Our Team

Our clients are supported by five experienced social workers and educators.

The team is supported by an experienced administrative secretary, allowing our professionals to focus on their core task: direct work with people.

Our Goal

Our goal is for people to regain independence and live without long-term reliance on external assistance – in their own home, with security, dignity, and perspective.
